Description
If your 24V setup needs plenty of house power without piling up a stack of smaller batteries, the Epoch Essential Series 230Ah LiFePO4 battery keeps things simple. With 5.89kWh of stored energy, built-in heating, Bluetooth monitoring, and a Group 8D footprint, it’s a strong fit for larger marine, RV, solar, and off-grid systems that need dependable power through changing conditions.
Key Features
-
High Capacity: Delivers 230Ah and 5.89kWh of stored energy, giving 24V house systems plenty of runtime without overcomplicating the battery bank.
-
Internal Heating: Built-in self-heating helps keep charging available in cold conditions, with support down to -20°C within the specified operating range.
-
Advanced BMS: Keeps an eye on overcharge, over-discharge, excessive current, and temperature limits so the battery can quietly handle protection in the background.
-
Long Cycle Life: Rated for 4,000+ cycles, making it a practical choice for systems that see regular use and need dependable long-term storage.
-
Weather-Resistant: The IP54-rated enclosure helps protect against dust and splashing water, which is a welcome advantage in marine compartments, RV installations, and other real-world environments.
The battery uses an 8S1P prismatic LiFePO4 configuration to deliver a steady 25.6V nominal output. With up to 200A of continuous discharge and a 300A surge for 10 seconds, it has enough current available for larger inverters and heavier 24V loads without making a fuss about it.
Its Group 8D footprint is another practical advantage, especially for installations already built around standard large-format battery trays. At 84 lbs, this is definitely a substantial battery, but that weight comes with 5.89kWh of energy packed into one enclosure instead of spread across multiple smaller units.
Cold weather is handled automatically through the internal heating system, allowing charging down to -20°C while discharge operation extends from -20°C to 60°C. That makes it much easier to use year-round without constantly worrying about whether the temperature is outside the battery’s comfort zone.
Bluetooth monitoring gives you an easy way to check on battery performance without digging around the electrical compartment, while the built-in BMS handles protection in the background. For larger installations, additional batteries can be connected in parallel according to Epoch’s configuration guidance, giving the system room to grow as energy needs increase.
With maintenance-free LiFePO4 chemistry, a 4,000+ cycle rating, and an 11-year manufacturer warranty, this Essential Series battery is built to settle into a 24V system and stay there for the long haul.
