We’ve seen these units last between 5-10 years when they’re sized right and used correctly. But operating conditions and how consistently you run near maximum capacity will dictate just how long your equipment lasts. You can try keeping loads at 50-75% of rated output to squeeze as much life out of your inverter (and other components) as possible.

Add up the wattage for every device you plan on running at once. That’s your minimum continuous wattage requirement. Then build in a little buffer for surge loads from motors/compressors, which can draw 2-3x their rated wattage when you turn them on. A 1,500W inverter is more than enough for most RV setups. No - while that’s the brand’s specialty (and mostly what we stock here at The Solar Store), you’ll also see modified sine wave models. These cost less and work just fine for things like heaters and lighting. They are notorious for causing buzzing sounds, though.
