The Victron Energy Blue Smart IP67 Charger 12/17 is a Bluetooth-enabled 120V AC smart battery charger delivering 17A of charge current to 12V lead-acid and lithium battery banks.

Unlike the IP65 series, the IP67 charger features a completely encapsulated cast aluminum housing with electronics fully moulded in resin — making it fully waterproof, shockproof, and ignition protected against water, oil, and chemical exposure.

With a five-stage adaptive charge algorithm, automatic recovery of fully discharged batteries, storage mode with weekly equalization, and full setup and monitoring via the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth, the Blue Smart IP67 12/17 delivers professional-grade charging performance for demanding marine, RV, automotive, and off-grid applications where the charger may be permanently installed in wet or hostile environments.

The Blue Smart IP67 12/17 operates at 95% efficiency — wasting three to four times less heat than industry-standard chargers — and reduces no-load power consumption to just 0.5W once the battery is fully charged. Two status LEDs provide at-a-glance charge state indication without opening the VictronConnect app: the yellow LED indicates bulk charge (fast blink), absorption (slow blink), float (solid), and storage (off), while the green LED confirms AC power is present. A start interrupt (Si) output is available for engine start interlock applications, providing a short-circuit-proof current-limited output at up to one volt below the main charge output.

The 1.5-meter battery connection cable and 1.5-meter AC power cord with NEMA 5-15 plug are both fixed to the enclosure — there are no detachable connectors to loosen or corrode in wet installations. The IP67 rating and fully encapsulated construction make this model the correct choice over the IP65 series wherever the charger will be permanently mounted in a location subject to immersion risk, wash-down, bilge spray, or continuous condensation exposure.
