The Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 12/20 is a Bluetooth-enabled, VE.Smart Network-capable smart battery charger delivering 20A of charge current from a 120V AC input, with a six-stage adaptive charge algorithm, Li-ion compatibility, and synchronized parallel charging support for 12V battery systems.

- Storage Mode with Weekly Equalization — Reduces float voltage to 13.2V after 24 hours without discharge to minimize plate corrosion and gassing, then raises voltage weekly to prevent electrolyte stratification and sulfation.
- NIGHT and LOW Modes — Reduces output current to a maximum of 50% of nominal for completely silent operation; NIGHT mode automatically ends after 8 hours, while LOW mode remains until manually ended.
- 40-Cycle History Log — Eleven onboard LEDs display real-time charge stage and mode, while the VictronConnect app provides lifetime historical data and detailed statistics for the last 40 charge cycles.
The Blue Smart IP22 12/20 charges at 20A continuous (10A in NIGHT or LOW mode) with up to 93% efficiency, generating up to four times less heat than industry-standard chargers, and reduces to just 0.5W no-load power once the battery is fully charged. A full discharge recovery function initiates charging on batteries depleted to 0V and reconnects to fully discharged Li-ion batteries with internal disconnect function.
Optional integration with a Smart Battery Sense, BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor, or SmartShunt via the VE.Smart Network enables remote battery voltage and temperature compensated charging, as well as tail-current-based switching from absorption to float. Battery connections are made via screw terminals rated for 16mm²/AWG6 cable, with a 1.8m AC cable with NEMA 5-15 plug included.
