Description
The Victron Energy Smart BatteryProtect 48V-100A is a Bluetooth-enabled battery protection device that automatically disconnects non-essential DC loads before the battery reaches a damaging depth of discharge, while also serving as a programmable system on/off switch.
Designed exclusively for 48V systems with a wide 24–70V operating range, the Smart BatteryProtect 48V-100A safeguards lead-acid and lithium battery banks in off-grid solar, marine, RV, and backup power applications by monitoring battery voltage and executing delayed, configurable load disconnects and reconnects to extend battery life and prevent deep discharge damage.
With its compact form factor, ultra-low current consumption, and ignition-proof MOSFET switching, the Smart BatteryProtect 48V-100A integrates cleanly into a wide range of DC load management and battery protection schemes.

The Smart BatteryProtect 48V-100A's MOSFET-based switching architecture eliminates mechanical relays entirely, making it ignition proof with no sparks at the terminals during switching events — an important safety characteristic in marine and RV environments where fuel vapors may be present. Ultra-low current consumption (1.9mA BLE on, 1.7mA at low voltage shutdown) makes this device well-suited for lithium battery systems where parasitic draw after a low-voltage shutdown must be kept to an absolute minimum. Default disconnect and reconnect thresholds are 42V and 48V respectively, with full custom threshold configuration available via VictronConnect.
The 48V-100A model uses M8 terminal connections to accommodate the heavier gauge cabling typical of high-current 48V systems, and includes a connector with a pre-assembled DC negative cable included in the box. It operates across a wide -40°C to +40°C temperature range at full load, with load capacity derated to 60% of nominal at 50°C. The on/off input terminal allows the Smart BatteryProtect to function as a remote-controlled system switch, enabling clean shutdown and startup sequencing when integrated with a battery management system, ignition switch, or remote panel.
