Description
The Victron Energy Smart BatteryProtect 100A is a Bluetooth-enabled battery protection device that disconnects non-essential loads before excessive discharge can damage the battery, with ultra-low current consumption and ignition-proof MOSFET switching for 12V and 24V systems.
Key Features:
- Automatic Low Voltage Disconnect — Disconnects non-essential loads 90 seconds after battery voltage drops below the preset threshold, with a 30-second delayed reconnect once voltage recovers, preventing accidental disconnect during engine cranking.
- Bluetooth Programming — All engage and disengage voltage levels are fully configurable via Bluetooth, with nine predefined threshold options also selectable via programming pin if Bluetooth is not used.
- Li-Ion Battery Compatible — Includes a dedicated Li-ion mode allowing the BatteryProtect to be controlled directly by a VE.Bus BMS, and can also function as a charge interrupter between a charger and a Li-ion battery.
- Ignition-Proof MOSFET Switching — Uses MOSFET switches instead of relays, eliminating sparks for safe installation in fuel-sensitive environments.
- Over Voltage Protection — Automatically disconnects the load if DC voltage exceeds 16.3V (12V systems) or 32.6V (24V systems) to protect sensitive connected equipment.
The Smart BatteryProtect 100A automatically detects 12V or 24V system voltage on first power-up and draws only 1.4mA with Bluetooth active (0.9mA at low voltage shutdown), making it ideal for Li-ion systems where parasitic draw after shutdown is critical. The delayed alarm output activates after 12 seconds below the disconnect threshold and drives a buzzer, LED, or relay via a 50mA short-circuit-proof open collector output.
Default disconnect and reconnect thresholds are set at 10.5V/21V (disengage) and 12V/24V (engage), fully adjustable via the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth. The unit features M8 screw terminals, a preassembled DC minus cable, and operates across a full load temperature range of -40°C to +40°C with derating up to 50°C.
