The Sun Xtender PVX-890T is a valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) AGM deep-cycle solar battery designed for off-grid and grid-tied solar and wind energy storage systems, uninterruptible power applications, and renewable energy installations.

The non-spillable AGM construction eliminates the requirement to monitor and replenish water levels entirely, while allowing installation in any orientation — upright, on its end, or on its side.

The PVX-890T delivers 89Ah of nominal capacity at the 24-hour rate and scales up to 100Ah at the 100-hour rate, making it well suited for the slow, sustained discharge cycles typical of off-grid solar storage applications. At the 1-hour rate the battery delivers 55Ah, confirming its ability to supply high current for shorter duration loads in inverter and backup power applications. The low impedance AGM construction ensures excellent charge acceptance across the full range of charge rates with no current limit required when using a properly regulated charge source — a significant advantage in solar systems where charge current varies with available irradiance throughout the day.

Sun Xtender's proprietary PolyGuard® separator system provides a level of plate protection not available from competing AGM battery manufacturers, directly contributing to the PVX-890T's long cycle life and resistance to the vibration and shock loads common in marine, RV, and mobile off-grid installations. As a Group 31 battery, the PVX-890T is physically larger than the Group 24 PVX-840T, offering increased capacity in a form factor compatible with standard Group 31 battery compartments and trays.
