Description

The Sun Xtender PVX-420T is a premium valve-regulated lead acid AGM deep cycle battery engineered for off-grid and grid-tied solar and wind energy storage systems as well as backup power for essential appliances and machines, delivering exceptional cycle life, superior charge acceptance, and non-spillable construction in an ultra-compact and lightweight U1 Tall form factor.

Key Features:

  • Pure Lead Calcium Grid Construction with Thicker-Than-Industry-Standard Plates: Engineered with pure lead calcium grids and plates thicker than the industry standard, delivering longer cycle life, increased reliability, and superior power output compared to conventional AGM batteries.
  • Proprietary PolyGuard Microporous Polyethylene Separators — Exclusive Dual Layer Protection: Sun Xtender's patented PolyGuard separators shield positive plates against shorting, shock, and vibration — a dual layer insulation protection feature not offered by any other manufacturer in the industry.
  • Non-Spillable VRLA-AGM Construction — No Water Monitoring Required: The sealed valve-regulated AGM design eliminates the need to monitor and replenish water levels, delivering truly maintenance-free operation across the full service life of the battery.
  • Low Impedance AGM Design for Excellent Charge Acceptance: The low impedance construction allows for superior charge acceptance with no current limit required during controlled voltage charging, maximizing solar energy harvest efficiency on every charge cycle.
  • Ultra-Compact U1 Tall Form Factor at Just 30 lbs — Maximum Installation Versatility: The smallest and lightest battery in the Sun Xtender solar lineup, the PVX-420T delivers 42Ah of reliable deep cycle capacity in a form factor ideal for tight spaces, small solar systems, backup power, and portable applications.

The Sun Xtender PVX-420T represents over three decades of innovation in renewable energy battery design. Since 1987, Sun Xtender — a division of Concorde Battery Corp — has been engineering VRLA-AGM batteries specifically for the demands of solar and wind energy storage, and the PVX-420T delivers that same proven platform in the most compact configuration available in the lineup.

Designed for off-grid, grid-tied, and backup power applications including cash registers, computers, and telephony systems, the PVX-420T delivers 42Ah of nominal capacity at the 24-hour rate and up to 44Ah at the 100-hour rate. At just 30 lbs, it is the easiest battery in the Sun Xtender range to handle, position, and install — making it an excellent choice for small systems, secondary backup circuits, and any application where weight and space are primary considerations.

Note that the PVX-420T uses M6 copper alloy threaded insert terminals rather than the M8 terminals found on larger Sun Xtender models. Silicon bronze bolts, nuts, and washers are included for installation. Shipping Hazmat Exempt, the PVX-420T is ready to deploy right out of the box.
