We always recommend having some way to accurately measure performance. After all, you just invested money in a power system, you want to be sure that it's operating correctly. Meters can monitor and display how much electricity is being produced from a solar array or wind turbine and how full the battery bank is and how much electricity you are using from your system. Grid tied monitors can also provide information on greenhouse gas savings.
We carry a wide variety of battery monitor systems, meters, shunts, and other accessories for keeping track of what is going on with your deep cycle battery system. We sell most of these for off-grid systems. We also stock the popular sub-metering product P3 International Kill-A-Watt AC power monitor which can give information on the power usage of appliances you currently use.
Shunts are required for most battery system monitors, including the Xantrex TM500 and the TriMetric. These are the same shunts that are supplied by Xantrex and Outback Power in their DC battery disconnects. Some monitor systems come with a shunt included.
