OutBack FLEXmax Extreme, MPPT Charge Controller, 80 Amp, 12v, 24v, 36v, 48v, or 60 Volt

Outback Power has developed a more robust version of the FLEXmax 80 amp MPPT solar charge controller. The FLEXmax FM100-300 has eliminated the need for a cooling fan in order to build a controller with no moving parts. The cooling fan is generally the first thing to fail on a charge controller. The FLEXmax Extreme was designed with a large heat sink along the back that allows the unit to cool without a fan. If you will be using the controller in extremely warm or hot environments, an external cooling fan is available to move more air across the heat sink.

The FLEXmax Extreme FM100-300 was also designed with a NEMA 3R weatherproof enclosure. This means that the controller can be mounted in an outdoor location. It's best to keep the unit out of direct sunlight so that it can keep cool when in use. The controller will provide full power output when the ambient temperature is between (-20°C to 60°C).

This model is capable of charging batteries at 24, or 48 DC. Its maximum output current is 100 amps at a maximum temperature of (25°C). The FLEXmax Extreme is compatible with all of the Outback remote displays: Mate, Mate2 and Mate3. The unit does come with a remote temperature sensor.
