Got the BZ MPPT500HV controller. Arrived quite fast to Canada from the USA.
Installed it as per directions. Turned it ON .. All of a sudden it fried in a shower of sparks and smoke. One of the input capacitors let go. That destroyed the unit.... Called BZ in St Louis. Their enginer said this dosen't happen! .. Sent the unit to them by mail, and had a new one back within a week. They covered the unit under warranty.. No questions..
Have the new one in service the past few weeks with no problems. A good controller for the money. Would definetly purchase another if I need another one for a project. The design seems to work well, and is getting
the max from the panels. The panels I use are 2 Siliken 245 watt panels. The 2 of them are in series, giving 60 to 70 volts out @ 8 anps. This is putting aprox 30 to 35 amps @ 12 volts out to the battery bank.
I totally recommend this controller..
